M/T ‘Avax’ Participates in Maritime Rescue Operation

Piraeus, July 26, 2024. In a display of professionalism, M/T ‘Avax’ participated in a life-saving maritime rescue operation in the Mediterranean Sea on May 15th, 2024.
Responding to a request from the Lampedusa Radio to assist in the search and rescue (SAR) operation of a distressed boat approximately 20 nautical miles away, Captain Mocanu and his crew promptly diverted their course and were instrumental in the successful rescue operation.
Upon locating the overcrowded wooden boat, the crew of ‘Avax’ provided essential aid and shelter until the arrival of an Italian search and rescue vessel.
The joint effort with the Italian authorities ensured the safe transfer of all individuals to the rescue vessel.
The crew’s dedication to maritime safety and their commitment to aiding those in distress reflect the highest standards of humanitarian assistance and professional responsibility.
We extend our deepest appreciation to the Master, officers, and crew of the ‘Avax’ for their bravery and unwavering dedication to duty.
The Maritime Administrator of the Republic of the Marshall Islands commendation serves as a testament to the company’s commitment to safety and excellence in all aspects of maritime operations.
